A small number of parents, who wish their children to have the opportunity to sit the 2026 SEAG Entrance Assessment, have, due to exceptional circumstances, missed both the Registration Period and the Late Registration Window, which closed on 24th Sept.
SEAG has worked with GL Assessment and others to see if it could be possible for these children to be registered to sit the 2026 SEAG Entrance Assessment. It is incredibly difficult. The deadlines are needed to provide time for SEAG, SEAG schools and GL to ensure that everything is in place for the first Assessment Paper on 14th November and that it is feasible to be able to provide Access Arrangements in time.
The SEAG Board has agreed to open an Emergency Registration Window for pupils who will be transferring to post-primary education in September 2027, and who have not already been registered to sit the 2026 SEAG Entrance Assessment. Parents should be aware that, given the timeframe, it will not be possible to include Access Arrangements requests.
The SEAG Emergency Registration Window
Is only for parents / guardians who have NOT already
registered their child to sit the 2026 Entrance Assessment
It will run from 08:00am Monday 19th October 2026 until 11:59pm Tuesday 20th October 2026. The Registration Portal will then close. It will NOT reopen.
Having provided a “Late Registration Window” and an “Emergency Registration Window” in addition to a long Registration Period, SEAG cannot provide any further extensions.
Please note that this Emergency Registration Window is for the year 2026 only.
